Meeting Minutes for May 9, 2016

7:02pm – Board of Directors met prior to the general membership meeting. These are the list of issues that were discussed:

• Jon had bills for cleaning, insurance and electric. He was asked to pay the bills.
• With recent damage to the pistol range it was decided that more security cameras be installed outside and to change the caliber limit on range to not include .223
• Steve suggested we buy more chairs for the club but will wait until another cart is built before buying.
• Kim will talk to Country Corner Store to see if we can get a credit account for gas purchases.

7:34 – Meeting was called to order – Pledge of Allegiance & Conservation pledge

Introduction of Officers: Mike Cumberland – President, Kim-Recording Secretary, Brian Jesteadt-Membership,  Jon Hiser-Treasurer, Stephen Gustkey-Pistol Team, George Queen –Membership at Large and Mike Ripley-Jr. Rifle/Black Powder.

Treasurer’s Report: Jon read the treasurer’s report.

Bills & Communications: nothing to report

Pop Machine: Stephen turned in $11.50

Rental Committee Report: Peggy reported 3 recent rentals and 1 upcoming in July that is paid in full. She turned in $1175.00. Stephen says the Constables will be renting the range May 13-15.

Pistol Team: Will start shooting outdoors possibly this week but could be next week due to weather.

Trap Team: Tom turned in $269.38 from practice, ATA registered shoot and the ATA marathon shoot.

Black Powder: Due to it being Mother’s day yesterday, Mike reported a low turnout.

Junior Rifle Team: Practice is now every Tuesday until Camp Perry in July.

Fun Indoor Shoot: No shooting until the fall.

Sister in Arms: Sharon is trying to find a day of the week to schedule classes that won’t interfere with current weekly club activities. The time and dates are still to be determined. She turned in $5.00

Membership: Brian read and welcomed all new members and collected $540 in dues with $55 going into the maintenance fund and $485 to general fund. Total active members including spouses, juniors and charter is at 600 with 126 new for 2016. We are at 426 of cap total.

Old Business: Jim was asked if he could get outdoor cameras installed at pistol range and parking lot. Jim reported that the phone system is now switched over to Armstrong. Steve said the stove is fixed in kitchen.

New Business: Eric Beverage was asked to explain in more detail about how he wants to use the club for future training. He has been teaching NRA basic pistol and rifle courses for many years along with being a school teacher. His plans are to offer different paid courses to the public approximately every other month which will cover pistol, rifle and possibly medical safety training. Times and dates have yet to be determined.

It was mentioned that the club should consider getting an AED (automated external defibrillator) along with an extensive first aid kit should there ever be a need.
